In 1997 accross from Country Winery in Nijverdal, Netherlands.
A large wooded area was cleared for new houses, just as the grapes were nearly ripe for harvesting.
The results were 70% of the harvest was devoured by the birds. In 1998 the BirdGard was installed 
and the damage and loss of fruit returned to under 10%

Not only can the birds and other animals cause damage to our food supply, but they can cause a host of 
other problems. Bird dropping on our cars, house windows, and in our gardens. The birds pick the
buds out of the trees, and have been known to drop stones on cars, cracking windshields.
